The Windmill Arts Center opened its doors for business in October of 2017. There are five co-owners, Matthew Burgos, Elisa Blandford, Kirin McCrory, Liz Ross and Sam Ross. They chose Downtown East Point because it was welcoming, collaborative and enthusiastic. The Windmill Arts Center is uniquely built with the expertise of award- winning directors, playwrights, producers and actors, the facility has been carefully crafted to serve the needs of developing and established artists of every kind. The Windmill will serve as a classroom, theater, event space, podcasting hub, film studio and screening house - with some of the most flexible, aesthetically pleasing spaces in Atlanta. Part of the mission of the Windmill Arts Center is to be a facility that caters to every motivated artist - whether it be a student, teacher, director, actor, dancer, visual artist, filmmaker, playwright, etc.

Their dream was to create a space that fosters the creation and communication of diverse perspectives, with an exceptional staff that makes everyone’s work better. Five Co-Owners The Windmill Arts Center is a state-of-the-art venue that is capable of hosting a variety of programs, including: live theatre, dance, classes, music, comedy productions, podcasts, filming, professional karaoke, gallery openings and other special events!

Renovating what originally was a filling station (then a variety of other storefronts), the owners had to remove a second floor in the building to accommodate the beautiful black box theater, green room and podcast studio. In fact, the same crane crew that helped build the new Mercedes Benz stadium hauled a massive iron beam all the way down to East Point.
