East Point Barber Shop
Elizabeth Hunt - Owner
The East Point Barber Shop opened its’ doors in Downtown East Point in 2000. The owner, Elizabeth Hunt, chose Downtown East Point because she liked the City’s quaint, small town feel.
The barber/beauty shop has a very inviting, laid back,"come as you are” atmosphere where everybody knows everybody by name. As many enter the East Point Barber Shop, they are reminded of a simpler time and place. It has a "Steel Magnolias" feel to it that keeps clients coming back year after year.
The East Point Barber Shop serves clients of all ages - the youngest client currently is six years old while the oldest client is one hundred and eight years old!
The East Point Barber Shop is very neighborly. When the Barbizon Beauty Shop had to unexpectedly relocate from a shopping center in East Point due to a fire, the East Point Barber Shop offered to share their space with them so that their clients had somewhere to go for their services. They ended up staying so now, the East Point Barber Shop is a barber/beauty shop!
The East Point Barber Shop has a “mascot” of sorts - a quirky, very opinionated green parrot named “Joey”. Clients are entertained by Joey in the waiting area, where his tree and toys are mounted. Joey is not shy - most often he has funny things to say but other times, embarrassing comments can be heard from the parrot - but he keeps everyone laughing!
Stop in sometime and say hello to everyone . . . and don’t forget to say hello to Joey!
